Belonging to the intimate Paradise Road resort collection, the Villa Bentota is an old manor house converted to an arty boutique lodging. The owners have taken immense attention to put together the hotel, where same attention has been given to all chain hotels, following the same black and white décor. The railway runs through the property and divides the gardens to two and the exquisite villa of details is just the right spot for a relaxing holiday by the beach which has the touch of olden days and the modern luxuries. The iconic building by Geoffrey Bawa enhances the feel to it even more so. The fifteen bedrooms are divided to five categories and some of which has private plunge pools, the rest is complete with rainwater showers along with other hearty amenities. The dining space is well thought about and follows the popular Paradise Road café’s interior while serving flavorful Sri Lankan dishes, authentic Italian dishes and fresh seafood. There is an outdoor bar to chill out by the evening fall. There is also a good selection of books and a few board games that you can spend along the evening with. Ayurvedic massages are also available on request but the true mesmerizing fact is the very much family friendly sandy beach which just a jump away from the stylish villa.
