Sri Lanka is a destination be visited right throughout the year. Rain seasons are twice a year and sunny days other than a few cloudy days here and there in the rainy season even then sun shines right throughout and great for coastal vacations. The southwest coast is best between December and April, before their monsoon season starts, while the east coast and the north is less humid between May and September, when their monsoon season is over. The central hills remain cooler all year round and we’d only recommend avoiding them in October and November, when the rainfall is less predictable.

For many years, social and political unrest had been there and since 11 years, peace is restored and travelling to any part of the country is possible. By nature Sri Lankans are very friendly and in general the environment is crime free and safe for travellers.

Sri Lanka is a very child friendly destination and locals to hotels will give the kids who are travelling with you special attention, With special food to care. Baby supplies are abundantly available and most preferably the attractions are very child friendly for them to enjoy their vacation, including the beach and wildlife parks, there’s enough and more options for children.

English is spoken very well among the most urban settings and commercially too. English is understood very well even by the less frequent speakers. On the other hand, Sinhala is the most widely spoken language and next comes Tamil.

With the culture, heritage, lifestyle and the nature equally packed to the destination, it is advisable at least to stay 2 weeks. That way you can freely enjoy beaches and popular tourist attractions.

Kite surfing too is an up and coming popular sport, in lagoons different aquatic sports like jet skiing, banana boating and speed boating is available, and fresh water white water rafting is too a popular sport in here.

Sri lanka is known for wildlife sightings, with a total of about 20 national parks the very popular ones such as Yala, Udawalawa, Minneriya is quite popular among tourists. You can spot Leopards, Elephants, Deer, Sloth bears and various types of birds, snakes and other animal as jackal, civet and Loris. Jeep safaris are the only way to enter national parks since private vehicles are not permitted in.

Sri Lanka is well served by many international airlines such as Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Cathey Pacific Air Asia, China Eastern In addition, Sri Lankan Airlines recently commenced direct flights from Melbourne to Colombo. Also London to Colombo and most of the main airports in India too is connected with direct flights. We also got Sri Lankan Airlines with direct connections to Tokyo Narita flying for more than 35 years. Many carriers in the Middles east to fly direct flights to Colombo, Emirates, Qatar, Gulf Airlines, Royal Jorden, Kuwait Airways, Etihad Airways. Turkish Airline connect Colombo with many European destinations bring thousands of travelers to Paradise Island.
