The colonial mansion coming to life from the days gone by is the ideal explanation t Jetwing St. Andrews. Nicely tucked in a garden of roses and a neatly manicured green edged just like a garden in the old English countryside, the hotel also has a cottagey feel with grey majority tones making up most decoration and bright, red and yellow interior sparkling and making a comfortable stay in a misty Nuwara Eliya. St. Andrews has 52 rooms and some of them are crowning with working fireplaces. The food here is as the rest going according to the English feel, very colonial with a few Sri Lankan dishes peeping out from here and there in the menu. Just as it would, the hotel also has a wooden floored well stocked cellar, a smoking room and a library for you to get tucked in with a good read. The gardens are ideal for the high tea they are offering in the evenings, to re-live the colonial days to your fantasies. Either you can play a round of snooker or simply meet the naturalist at the hotel who will guide you to a walk at either the Galway Edge forest or a simple walk around the lake. Nuwara Eliya Golf club has been around for long, so a round of golf or a simple visit to the Golf Club will also give you a glimpse of how the days in an Victorian vacation picture book might have looked.
