6 Days | 5 Nights
Colombo the ultimate hub of the metropolitan and an olden era town, all in one mixing along the modern skylines, business centers, busy roads and cobble paths, old buildings and garden spaces. This 19th century port city is the commercial hub of Sri Lanka where a day’s trip will bring you enough experiences to fill up a holiday with and enough technology for the businessman like you to catch up on the world passing by. We have included a little trip to the hills and see the gentle giants along the way together with the real essence of Colombo.
Upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport you will be greeted with “Ayubowan” and will be assisted by our Airport Representative. You can address any last-minute questions you have about the itinerary and introduce you to your guide, who will be your travel companion as you explore around Sri Lanka and transfer to Cinnamon Grand hotel in the heart of Colombo. Relax and unwind after your flight at this city center hotel and get ready for a busy day of business coming up tomorrow.
Today morning after breakfast at the main restaurant you can continue with the business arrangements and meeting with partners as previously arranged by you. This day is dedicated in full for your pre made arrangements and we recommend you to get lunch at one of the finer selected restaurants Colombo city has to offer. Your chauffeur or your tour consultant will be able to assist you with a plenty of options available. Overnight stay at Cinnamon Grand.
Morning after breakfast, you will visit Pinnawala Elephant orphanage. Pinnawala is a care shelter for disabled elephants and cubs. Don’t miss the bathing time of theirs; following them to the river is a great idea. Next up you will visit the beautiful botanical gardens on the way to Kandy city. Take a walk through the gardens, visit the orchid house and enjoy the riverside views. This will be followed with a visit to the Temple of the Tooth, one of the most sacred sites for the Buddhist population of the country and known to be housing the tooth relic of Lord Buddha.
Today Morning you will explore Galle and Unawatuna. Galle is the most important town in the south and its fort area, with its mighty ramparts, encloses some wonderful living collections of colonial architecture. A laid back and enchanting place to wander, it was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1988. Rather removed from the busy modern town, the fort remains a village atmosphere. You will take a guided walk around this city of time and your host will tell you very interesting stories from the gone days. Stories of how the names came to being, how the streets were inhibited and all. With the Portuguese style low roofed pillared buildings like in a movie set shading your way, Fort also boasts its own food culture. Maybe an ice cream to beat the heat from all the walking is a perfect idea. Fort also has a good collection of museums showcasing artifacts from the past. Every cobblestone here tells a story and if you are lucky you will be able to catch the fort jumpers. These enthusiastic sea jumpers, diving off straight to the sea depth from the fort wall and are a prominent sight in the Fort. By the evening fall you can take a trip to the Unawatuna beach, known for sea bathing and shallow waters, this beach is an amazing spot to watch the sunset. We end the day with the great sunset and head back to Colombo. Overnight at Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
Today after breakfast spend the day at leisure or you have the option to explore the Colombo city. To explore the colonial past and around every corner building from another era remain hidden between renovations. Much of Colombo’s architecture is an intriguing memento of the past, whether this be a Mosque or old Dutch Bell Tower out of sight along vendor-lined streets or the renovated statement buildings in a recently re-opened part of town. Glimpse the future of Colombo as you arrive at the Dutch Hospital, surrounded by high rise buildings, new hotels and café culture. A plethora of shopping centers modern and old gives you a choice to shop along the day, for a different experience hop on a tuk and take a drive to the famous beach spot the Galle Face. Ending your tour in Colombo gives you different depths of flavors to explore and be amazed at your own pace.
Morning after breakfast leave to the international airport to hop on the flight back home.
