Being surrounded by savanna forest and scenic mountain views is this 30 acres of abandoned deforested Chena cultivation bordering Rambakan Oya, which has been converted to an organic farm with the use of good agricultural practices. The property is located in the village of Rathugala close to the Gal Oya National Park which is inhabited by the last indigenous population of Sri Lanka, namely known as ‘Veddhas’. Tourism being its main focus, the property welcomes and provides accommodation to guests with the availability of ten spacious tents, a restaurant, and an infinity pool to indulge amidst nature whilst enjoying the luxury and modern comfort. Along with the intention of sustainable tourism various other new tourism trends such as Agri Tourism, Wildlife Tourism, Ethnic tourism, and Eco-Cultural tourism have been introduced and once at the campsite guest are allowed to experience organic farming while actively participating in environment protection through agro reforestation and drip irrigation. Nevertheless, the campsite is also being designed and constructed using eco-friendly products and materials in order to use natural light and ventilation. With the use of the green and environmental conservation sustainable development projects the resort has taken initiative in carrying out its services in the best suitable manner by using many good practices such as using direct current generation by the usage of individual solar panels for chalets and public areas, recycling of gray water generated from the property and reusing it for water closet flushing and using in-house compositing and traditional farming practices. In addition to that, we believe that Wild Glamping Gal Oya is ideal for travelers who are looking forward for an indulge in the sounds of nature with scenic tropical surroundings.
