Tintagel used to be one of the most elite houses in Colombo. Being the family residence of the Bandaranaike’s, now the property is in the hands of the stylish restaurant owner Shanth Fernando. Tintagel is decorated very stylishly with modern décor hanging in and around the villa. With a huge wall of green vines right at the entrance and a fountain which had been there from the days of past, the white washed boutique hotel has 10 suites. All suites are furnished with four poster beds along with a pillow menu and antique furniture. All of the rooms are decorated in the same ideal as the rest of the hotel, minimal and modern. The hotel has an outdoor restaurant where they promote their moonlit dinners. The cuisine is well curated and glimpse of fusions from both local and international dishes make the menu appealing. Meals are also served at the comfort of the guest’s room. The city hotel also has a lap pool with statues; a library with a collection of leather bound books, a small spa with a stem room is available as relaxing options for the in-house guests. There is a private space for small and intimate functions, and a Bar with leather bound chairs. In his last visit to Sri Lanka Price Charles stayed at the Tintagel too.
