One of the final projects by the Geoffrey Bawa on the western shores of Sri Lanka, the Blue Water Wadduwa is centralling the concept of water in the property. The vast blue seas just in front, the hotel is filled with ponds, slides and fountains just bringing a true sense to its name. Being quite close to Colombo the beach breeze just sweeping across your face, the acres and acres of coconut land is used strategically in placing the hotel to achieve a finer balance. Blue water has 140 rooms aesthetically divided to different categories, where all of which is well appointed. The modernist furnishing from the original design still holds up decades later with some original and some replicated furnishing making the interior. Blue Water served the delicious cuisines of local and international at their two restaurants. The main restaurant and “The Nautilis” for fine dining options. Two big swimming pools, a well-equipped gym, a squash court makes up to the sport amenities at the hotel where there is also a night club operational on Saturdays. The Spa is staffed by Balinese therapists and is designed as a grass topped building the design an edge. The veranda bar and the pool bar serve drinks to end the day in statement.
