Horathapola is one of its kind, with white rising pillars making up a regal ancestral home in wide garden of yards of greenery. When you arrive at the property you will be amazed by the coconut estate with a lot of tropical fruit plants making an appearance. The house itself is spacious and terra cotta floored while the upper floors are hardwood floored. The Dutch period house and its expanse of gardens attracts a lot of birds and wildlife. The main house is not air conditioned but that is hardly noted anyway, with tall ceilings and ample windows, the winds coming through makes it very breezy and cooling. The elegantly antique furniture villa consists of 4 rooms, and one family lodge close to the main house. The cuisine at Horathapola is fresh and staying true to the estate life, delectable. Mainly rice and curries made in clay pots takes the center piece. Adjusting spices to suit your taste palate is always an option. Horathapola is also featuring an extensive library filled with all sorts of books to update you with knowledge in different subjects. With lots of open space it’s one great place to start your Sri Lankan adventure while you enjoy the great outdoors, relaxing by the slim 50 ft. swimming pool with a Jacuzzi on the side is wonderful experiences.
