This charming old world boutique in Puttlam has been serving guests since 1836. While being a family home for many generations to come and go, Bethany has preserved its flavor in its all authenticity. The six-bedroom villa follows the original Dutch architecture with columns, long veranda’s and high ceilings. The garden opens up to generous lagoon views, while also accommodating a pool as a place of modern comforts to add to your holiday. Bethany 101 while acting as more of a homely destination than a structured hotel accommodates up to 12 guests and one can book the whole villa at the necessity. The interiors are tastefully decorated with to preserve the homely feeling while keeping along the bits and pieces from the old days, such as four poster beds with mosquito nets. The cuisine is both local and western, but preferred cuisine is flavorful local dishes with fresh produce as fruits, vegetables and seafood making to the table. Bethany doesn’t serve pork and is halal in serving meat items. Your entertainment options include the swimming pool, the library, and bit of board games and if you fancy alcohol, even though the villa doesn’t sell, the guest is welcome to bring their own alcohol without being charged for corkage. Where Bethany is located is known for some water sports too, you can go paddle boating in the lagoon as a favorite pastime.
